Scholarships Available for Fantasia Fair 2009
The Fantasia Fair Planning Committee has announced that there will be a number of scholarships available for the 35th annual Fantasia Fair conference which will take place in historic Provincetown, Massachusetts from October 18 through October 25, 2009.

"The world-wide recession is making things very difficult for many in the community and the financial hardships make scholarships like ours even more important" commented Fair Director Miqqi Alicia Gilbert, Ph.D. "There are several awards that provide different levels of financial support. These awards often make the difference between someone being able to attend these educational workshops and the alternative of just staying at home and hiding in the closet." Dr. Gilbert stresses the "need for crossdressers and transsexuals to learn about themselves in an open, socially tolerant environment." The Fantasia Fair conference in Provincetown provides such an environment.

Dr. Gilbert continues, "Fantasia Fair is about helping people and these awards help us help the community."
